Youth Mission Trip to Paradise

This past month I had the opportunity to join my youth group on a week long mission trip to Paradise. This was my 4th mission trip I have ever been on and it was definitely the best one yet. We took a team of 11 students along with 3 adults, staying at and serving alongside Paradise EFC.

Partnered with Reach Global, we went to a couple of houses to help with anything the homeowners needed. From crawling under a house to stuff and strap in insulation, digging trenches, shoveling rocks, and weed eating; to walking through the neighborhoods and knocking on doors to converse with the homeowners about their experience with the fire and asking if we can pray for them, our main goal this week was people over projects. While we were there to serve physically, we were also able to serve spiritually by constantly praying and simply listening to the homeowners’ stories.

The youth and adult leaders were all so amazing and I can’t express enough how grateful I am for the opportunity to work with them and grow spiritually together. Seeing the looks on people’s faces after helping them and feeling their excitement after simply talking with them was very heart warming. I am so beyond thankful that I was able to participate in this mission trip and for the life lessons it taught me that I will take with me everywhere as I continue to grow.
