For Everything There Is A Season

For everything there is a season. Can you believe that spring is upon us? Spring brings warmer days, flowers, migrating birds, and the remembrance of Christ’s death upon the cross and His ultimate resurrection!

When I think about the time between His death and resurrection, I’m guessing that time stood still for the Christ followers of that day. Christ was in their presence one day and the next He wasn’t, leaving an indescribable void. Even though they’d been forewarned that He would rise again (Mark 8:31), I’m sure there were skeptics among those that believed. Those that wanted to believe, but had seen with their own eyes the horrible suffering Christ endured on the cross before He died. Imagine their wonder and delight when He did, as He had promised, rose again the third day!

Let Easter be a time that we focus on renewing our hearts and minds on Christ. I challenge each of us to claim 2 Co. 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Did you get that? Are becoming! It is a process. Maybe you’ve been hibernating (so to speak) spiritually, well it’s time to wake up and start growing!

At OCS we strive to encourage our students to grow into everything God wants them to be. I pray for our students to grow up to be men and women of God that will serve, please, and love Him. Amen!

By the time you receive this article we will be in our third and last trimester of the school year. In April, the Seventh and Eighth Grade will be leaving for Washington D.C. on the 5th and returning on the 10th. Please pray for safe travel, good health, and a wonderful experience learning about our great nation. Also, in April we will start standardized testing for grades First-Eight.

How can you pray for OCS?

● God’s choice of a new Administrator.

● Giving to the scholarship fund (We still need gifts for this fund).

● Wisdom and discernment for the scholarship committee in awarding scholarships for

the 2020-2021 school year.

● Physical, emotional and spiritual protection for each student and staff member.

● That we’d finish this school year strong!
